Oh he could play all right, but you remember him for what I do, mate.

Still can't believe he's seventy fucking two.

Mart - he could play a bit too mate ....

But my memory was of him laying waste to the other sides enforcers and rough tacklers

We were playing Sheffield Utd and of all people, Tony Currie, a big lad and brilliant with it, took out Patsy Holland down by the West Side South Bank corner - big mistake, Billy loved Patsy, he started running from well inside our half, the fucking ball was out of play, players just standing about, but Bonzo was in full flight, the crowd roaring as he travelled a good half length of the pitch

The 'coming together' was of one big lad thinking fuck me for 5 seconds and whack, and another, hands around his neck and straight over the wall into the West Side the pair of them

Remarkably, a mere booking, less so, not one Northern type intervened, predictably, Currie never went near the ball thereafter

We loved our Bonzo

72 ! He's not, is he ???

FFS, now that makes me feel old. What a player though.

Always makes me laugh when cunts in the media go on about the 'West Ham Way' without knowing that our fans have always loved a battler.
